VIRTA mural

Varkaus Museum Centre Konsti, Varkaus, Finland, 2026

Commissioned by Varkaus City.

The Virta mural depicts suggestive, minimal human figures immersed in their own creative pursuits. The title refers to the state of flow, that feeling of deep concentration and effortless engagement in which creativity takes over and ideas begin to flow freely.

At the same time, Virta evokes the surroundings of Varkaus and its industrial heritage, where the flow of water, energy, and production has long shaped the landscape and the identity of the place. The work brings together the inner flow of creativity and the physical flows that have shaped the local environment, connecting individual creative processes with the wider history and spirit of the place.
