RADICAL PLAY IN KALASATAMA, HELSINKI

Participatory art project in collaboration with Hemmo Honkonen and Päivi Raivio. Commissioned by Helsinki City, 2025.

Radical Play creates a temporary spatial installation and participatory play laboratory that encourages creative and investigative, open-ended play. It highlights themes such as free play, experimentation, children’s urban experience, community, and the reclaiming of public space.

The pop-up events are part of a broader design project of the same name, in which the Radical Play collective develops new types of play equipment and urban elements that enrich existing play environment design and bring new voices and perspectives into the development of public spaces.
